Who we are

Ayurvedapedia is published by Authentic Ayurveda d.o.o., Slavka Krautzeka 51, 51000 Rijeka, Croatia, which is the data controller for this site. You can reach us at info@ayurvedapedia.com.

What we collect

Server logs. Like every website, our server records standard technical information when a page is requested: the IP address, the browser and device type, the page requested and the time. We use this only to operate the site securely and to diagnose problems. These records are kept for a limited period and are not used to build a profile of you.

Visitor statistics. To understand which articles are read, we use privacy-friendly analytics that we run ourselves, on our own server within the European Union. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites, and records only anonymous, aggregated figures, such as how many times a page was viewed, the general type of device and the country. It cannot identify you, we do not build a profile, and none of it is sent to or shared with any third party.

On-device tools. The interactive tools, such as the dosha test, the calculators and the meal planner, save your answers in your browser's local storage, on your own device. This information stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Dosha test result by email (optional). At the end of the dosha test you may choose to have your result sent to you by email. If you do, we store the email address you enter, the first name if you give one, your test result and the time of your request, on our own server within the European Union, and we use them to send you that result. If you also tick the separate box for occasional knowledge updates from the encyclopaedia, we use your address for those until you unsubscribe; every such email carries a removal link, and you can also write to us at any time to have your address deleted. We do not use these details for anything else, and we do not share them.

Contact and contributor forms. If you write to us through the contact form, or apply through the Write for Us form, we store what you send, such as your name, email address, and your message or application details, on our own server within the European Union. We use it only to read your message and reply to you, we keep it no longer than the correspondence needs, and we do not use it for anything else or share it.

Apart from these optional features, you do not need an account, or to give us any personal details, to read the encyclopaedia.

Cookies and tracking

The reference pages use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The interactive tools use local storage, which stays on your device rather than being sent to a server. If you arrive from a search engine or social network, that service may collect its own information under its own policy, which we do not control.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade any information. The site is served from our own server within the European Union. Some illustrations are embedded from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, and are credited on the page.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, write to info@ayurvedapedia.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Croatia this is the Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).

Children

This site is a general reference and is not directed at children under 16.
