How to practise

  1. Lie down comfortably on your back with the arms a little away from the body.
  2. Support the head and knees with cushions if it helps you settle.
  3. Close the eyes and let the whole body grow still and heavy.
  4. Slowly move your attention through the body, part by part, softening each one.
  5. Notice the natural breath without changing it, letting it grow slow and easy.
  6. Stay relaxed and aware, resting in the space between waking and sleep.
  7. When the practice ends, gently move the fingers and toes before sitting up slowly.
