How to practise

  1. Sit comfortably with the eyes gently closed and the face relaxed.
  2. Rest the hands on the knees, or lightly cover the ears with the thumbs.
  3. Breathe in slowly and fully through the nose.
  4. As you breathe out, make a soft, steady humming sound like a bee.
  5. Feel the gentle vibration spreading across the head and face.
  6. Keep the out-breath long, smooth, and unforced.
  7. Repeat for the chosen time, then sit quietly and notice the stillness.
